Christmas tale

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

(Excepting of course, Vader, who is hoping that Sophie will be stupid enough to come by the tree so he can attack her.)

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there

This is kinda sad. Minimal decorations.

When what to my wondering eye did appear
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick

Something's missing. Where are the damn reindeer? The sleigh? And little is the operative term here...

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!

Um - where are the presents? The elves have a lot to answer for. Or a lot to wrap.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Here's hoping you're further ahead on Christmas than I am....

  1. Don't worry, I'm not any farther along than you are. Somehow, it all comes together.

  2. I'm so jealous. Your tree and deco are lovely.

  3. Uhhh...actually no. I still don't have garland and still no gifts under the tree. I am SO FAR behind this year. Not even as much on the mantle. I sent most of my ornament boxes right back to the basement. But it's okay. This is the cleanest and barest this room has been in a year. That is Good!

  4. Umm...my wreath is 2 ft closer to the door than it was sometime last week. Tree is still in the box (with ceiling parts on it) upstairs.

    Maybe nexxt year!
