The preparations.
A twenty pound bird, cooked to succulent delight.
The yummy sweet potatoes.
Broccoli with good stuff on it.
All the goodness of quarts of giblet gravy from scratch. (And it was damn fine, I'm here to tell you.)
All that and more, and it comes down to this. The remains of the day.
Lunch - turkey, dressing, gravy, green beans, and sweet potato casserole |
yummy, yummy, yummy, there's good stuff for your tummy
ReplyDeleteThat looks a lot like my Turkey Day, down to the browning of the sweet potato marshmallows.
ReplyDeleteI came downstairs the next morning to make my turkey soup (you do make soup don't you?) only to discover that during the night DS3 had snuck downstairs and eaten my entire container, almost a gallon of stock. Aaaaugh. Crazy kid.
We're down to a little bit of sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes and gravy (and only because I made soooo much!)
ReplyDeleteYour dishes and bird look so delectable! Now I'm even more wistful, and wishing for more leftovers. *rumble.rumble*
ReplyDeleteHee, hee, do I spy Vader curled up on a sitting room chair?
ReplyDeleteMy mil had NOTHING left over I'm planning to cook my own turkey dinner just so we can enjoy the leftovers.
ReplyDeleteVader
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing that revolting video you were forced to star in, I hope you AT LEAST got some of that fine-lookin' grub.
If not, the furniture could do with some good thread-pulling.
