Happy New Year to you and yours. I'm glad to see 2011 behind me. I have to say it's been a pretty dreadful year here at Chez Crazy, and I'm hopeful that things will be better in 2012.
I've been spying on some book buying services and have purchased a few more tatting books for my collection. I've just gotten "Tatting: Technique and History" by Elgiva Nicholls, "The Craft of Tatting" by Bessie M. Attenborough, and a collection of tatting patterns from Workbasket Magazine, "Tatting Patterns (Aunt Ellen's Treasury)".
Cisco has enjoyed the Christmas season. He's been enjoying my Christmas rug. It shows off his fur nicely. (He is handsome, isn't he?
Christmas has been put away by DH and the Stooges, and I have to go back to work, dammit.
Brings me to mind something a friend told me about her 4 yr old son. Seems he was misbehaving, and when caught he said, "Dammie-whammie." My friend told him he shouldn't say such things, and he countered with "But Mommy, I didn't say dammit."
She had to stifle her laughter.
I don't want to go back to work, dammie-wammie.
I want to be like Sophie and lie around on the bed.
Or like Vader, and doze.
Or be like Cisco, and enjoy lolling around.
Note: shortly after I wrote this, we got the sad news that DH's brother has died in Florida. This was DH's only full sibling. He was just 48 and was diagnosed with Stage 4 small cell lung cancer last April. At the time of diagnosis, it had already metastasized to his brain. DH has suffered a lot from depression lately, so I'm trying to spend as much time as possible with him. Please keep that family in your prayers.
