The latest sur Chez Crazy

First of all, while I'm tatting, I can't really show you what I'm working on. That's because I'm working on patterns to submit for Palmetto Tat Days.

OK, I'll show you this. But that's all - sorry!

There have been some interesting things happening here.

Larry is currently at a Comic Con and excited because he gets to see Stan Lee, plus all the anime. Larry hopped a MegaBus to get to Orlando - tickets were $30 each way. On his way down, I got this from Larry:

Once he got there, he texted me: "Oh god I bought a sword". Oh shitake mushrooms....

Obviously, he's having fun.

The big news is on the Curly front. And it's good! Curly has moved into an apartment! This move is voluntary and fairly well thought out. It's near us and within walking distance of a lot of things, including the grocery. (He has a car.) He's working two jobs. He has two roommates that he's known for a while, so there should be no surprises there (we hope). Curly is very, very excited about the move, and I'm glad for him.

A couple of days ago, Curly had a conversation with me. He said, "Mom, I've been happier in the past six months than I ever have been." And I'm happy for him. Not so coincidentally, six months is the length of time he's been on lithium and taking it regularly. It's amazing what taking the right medication will do for someone with a mental illness. Also, acknowledging that there is an issue!

He's talking about college too, which he had poo-pooed before. Maybe classes in the fall. I'm not expecting that things will be perfect for Curly in the future, but this is a big step. It's such a relief for DH and I, as well as our extended families.

And a little thing, pour moi:

See what DH scored for me? This is a Jason Wu bag from Target. They're sold out almost everywhere - except at a Target near where he was working this past week. He went there, and they found one in the back! The bag is super cute, and I didn't have to pay the $119 it's going for on Ebay these days. Plus - it's a  kitty! What's not to love? I lurve my kitty bag.

Now, back to patterns....

  2. You're a very lucky girl both for the bag and for a hubby that would pick you up the bag! Can't wait to see what you cook up for palmettos.

  7. YAY for Curly!
How fun for your husband to get over to Comic Con.
If you ever want designer stuff at Target, let me know. It's always on clearance here in Wisconsin where people give a crap about names. Come to think of it, I could start making a small fortune on ebay...
