Doodad Dare

A while back Diane started a doodad dare: she would send folks who wanted them some nifty findings to tat with, and we were to post what we did.

I was busy with other things (like Tat Days), and I'm still in the middle of test tatting, but here's what I did...

These are done in Karey's Hydrangea Hyatinths HDT size 20, with kitties I got from Karey at Tat Days. They are for the birthday of a non-tatting old friend of mine who luffs kitties in any form. I think she'll be pleased.

1. Do you like bleu cheese? Only a little.  Bree, that's yummy.
2. Have you ever smoked? I can honestly say I have never, ever picked up a cigarette.
3. Do you own a gun? No, ma’am. DH has a shotgun, which I've never touched.
4. Favorite type of food? Any. I’m usually on the seafood diet. I see food, so I eat it.
5. Favorite type of music? Anything but rap, hip-hop, or twangy country music. Jazz is good.
6. What do you think of hot dogs? Love a good Varsity chili slaw dog. With onion rings. Umm.
7. Favorite Christmas movie? Not a movie – a TV special. A Charlie Brown Christmas
8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? I’d prefer to drink liquefied M&M’s or a milkshake/Blizzard. I actually drink water.
9. Can you do push-ups? Isn't that some kind of exercise? Um, no.
10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? My 20th anniversary ring.
11. Favorite hobby? At the moment, tatting.
12. Do you have A. D. D.? I don’t Look! A bird! know. Maybe......
13. Do you wear glasses/contacts? Glasses, 'cause I'm blinder than the proverbial bat.
14. Middle name? Elizabeth. Which I like much better than my given name.
15. Name three thoughts at this exact moment: I wish my nose would work again and not be so stuffy. What is Curly up to? Jeez, how many more years to I have to work.
16. Name three drinks you regularly drink: water, generic coke zero, and water.
17. Current worry? Curly. And money.
18. Current hate right now? People who don’t read or research – then spout someone else’s opinion as their own. It’s very pervasive. Knowledge is power, folks.  Read.  And make up your OWN mind.
19. Favorite place to be? Anyplace where I can laugh with my family.  You meant a specific place?  The mountains, 'nach.
20. How did you bring in the new year? DH and I were tired – we went to bed before midnight. We are dull.
21. Someplace you’d like to go? Paris, again.
22. Name three people who will complete this. I don't know, maybe Blackbird.
23. Do you own slippers? I think so. But I don’t wear them. I hate shoes, and take them off any time I can.
24. What color shirt are you wearing? Black and white
25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? No, I slide. And they're cold! (An old boy friend had them.)
26. Can you whistle? Yes, pretty well actually.
27. Where are you now? At work.  Avoiding work.
28. Would you be a pirate? No. I like regular showers. And clean clothes..
29. What songs do you sing in the shower? Anything! Show tunes. Standards (Fly me to the moon…). Folk songs. The Beatles. Hymns. Carol King.
30. Favorite Girl’s Name? Don’t have one. But if I’d had a girl child, her name would have been Ruth – my grandmother’s name.
31. Favorite boy’s name? That I didn’t use on my kids? David.
32. What is in your pocket right now? Cell phone and a wrapped sugar-free hard candy.  And now - just a cell phone.
33. Last thing that made you laugh? Bubba called while I was in the shower - DH answered (his cell phone charges in our bathroom). I hollered, "Bubba! I'm naked!" And Bubba asked that the phone be hung over the shower door for his viewing pleasure.
34. What vehicle do you drive? A used Honda Civic hybrid
35. Worst injury you’ve ever had? I'm assuming this is from an accident (I have lots of surgical scars). I slipped on frosty steps years ago and tumbled onto the concrete six feet below, smashing my face and glasses. I cracked my eye orbit and required more than 20 stitches.
36. Do you love where you live? Love? No. But I’m very fond of it.
37. How many TVs do you have in your house? I’m ashamed to say we have six.
38. How many computers do you have in your house? At least six. That work. We are geeky.
39. If you changed your job, what would it be? Physician or artist. Or professional lottery-winner.  Yeah, that's the ticket.
40. If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?? For Curly to get some sense about his illness, for the folks in this country to get together and stop fighting and accomplish something (like fix the economy, though I'm happy about the health care), and ...  I don't know, world peace.
