Thursday Stuff

Still watching the Olympics.  How cute is Quatchi?

The other mascots are cute too, but I want to hug Quatchi.  He's snuggly.

Speaking as a former theatrical costume designer, I do NOT want to hug the bad designers of men's ice skating costumes. Ugh.  This is bizarre.  This looks like a kid's Halloween costume.  And this is just heinous.

I've recently purchased Jon Yusoff's great book Tatting With Rings, so I'm working on some new things.

Thought I'd try out making some earrings, but tatting on a ring is slow for me.  But I'll get it.

Guess what this is.  Just guess.

Nope.  Try again.

Nope.

It's a ramp/sidewalk by my office.  It has enough sand on it to make sand castles, all in the name of preventing falls in the ice.  I am now officially Sick Of Winter.

Moe is back at school today, since Winter Break is over.  (Thank you, Jeebus.)  Unfortunately, Curly is still home, serving out the rest of his current suspension from school.  He should go back on Monday, if he lives that long.  You know, in some species the mothers eat their young.  Hmmm.

Here's a funny that someone sent me today - math can help you find your role model!

I promise you WILL laugh when you find your role model.

NO CHEATING. I was really surprised to find out who my role model was.

FIND OUT WHO TRULY IS YOUR ROLE MODEL..

DON'T SCROLL DOWN YET,

DO THE SIMPLE MATH BELOW, THEN SCROLL DOWN TO FIND YOUR HERO.

It's CRAZY how accurate this is!

No peeking!

1) Pick your favorite number between 1-9
2) Multiply by 3 then
3) Add 3
4) Then again Multiply by 3 (I'll wait while you get the calculator....)
5) You'll get a 2 or 3 digit number.....
6) Add the digits together

Now Scroll down .................

With that number, see who your ROLE MODEL is from the list below:

1. Einstein

2. Oprah Winfrey

3. Snoopy

4. Bill Clinton

5. Bill Gates

6. Gandhi

7. Ronald Reagan

8. Babe Ruth

9. The Crazy Mom

10. John F. Kennedy

I know, I know....I just have that effect on people. One day, you too can be like me!

P.S. Stop picking different numbers!!

I AM YOUR IDOL, JUST DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!

  3. Not only are you my idol, I guessed before clicking on the links which of the horrrible men's skating costume would come up. I picked right everytime. I skated (not ice but roller dance) competitively and was forced to make my own costumes as I was an adult and tall and it would cost a fortune for ready made.

  6. This is why I love your blog so much. You always have fun, interesting, heartfelt, creative, etc..... posts. You are my role model, even though I'm probably old enough to be your mom! You are so kind and thoughtful, always. You have spent lots of time researching tatters for me to learn from. BTW have you heard from any of those Knoxville folks? Right now I'm busy up to my ears with making Easter clothing and 5 outfits for kids that aren't mine, but once I'm through with those I should have a little time before I have to start on birthday and summer things.
I know you worry a lot about Curly, but he sounds like the kind of kid that usually ends up being very successful. A bit willful, but hey, aren't we all at times!!!
