On going stuff at Chez Crazy

I'm tatting.

I wasn't happy with this, so I cut it out and discarded it. (I saved the beads.) I'm re-doing it now, and am much happier. This was too frilly for what I was trying to accomplish, plus the variegated thread detracted from the design.

As it's Easter time, we have Peeps around the house. I hate the taste of Peeps, but they are fun to torture use in research. The flinging of the microwaved Peeps is a necessary activity. I will not allow the Stooges to participate in a Peep eating contest, because that inevitably results in Peepy regurgitation.

I love the Peep Contest the Washington Post does every year - very very funny. Go take a look at it - you'll be happy you did.

Speaking of happy....

This is how Vader spends much of his time. Sleeping. See how his paws are curled? I brushed his furry tummy right after this, and he only bit me a little.

We are having Curly and his roommates over for an early Easter dinner Saturday evening, ham and the fixings. Curly is doing remarkably well, and I'm so very pleased for him. He's doing well in his job, he's living on his own and paying his bills, and he seems pretty happy. Such a change from a year ago!

Happy Easter

He is risen!

He is risen indeed....
(This cross is in front of my church on Easter.  It is a church tradition to bring flowers on Easter Sunday to put on it.)

We've had a nice Easter.  Curly resurfaced late Saturday night and spent the night in the tent in the backyard without complaints.  He got up and shaved off his week-old stubble and came to church with me and Moe, wearing the new dress shirt I bought for him.  Tomorrow he has a job interview at the local Target - let's hope he gets a job and can keep himself out of trouble.  And maybe even save some money!

Hope springs eternal.
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

With Curly, as with all my children, I must always have hope.  And faith that God will take care of them.  For it is, after all, Easter.

The weather has been quite lovely.  Warm, almost hot, dry days with pleasant nights.  The azaleas and the dogwoods are beginning to bloom - soon the shrubbery will be exploding with color.

My Ott light arrived - I love it!  It's so wonderful to have such good full spectrum light.  It helps while I'm working on the hairpin lace or tatting.  I'm still working on the Kitty Blankie for my new niece.

And I'm a winner!  Tatting Chic had a giveaway for her 2 year blogiversary. She decided to give away a How To Tat book and a shuttle and some thread.  And I won!  Hurrah!  I've wanted a how to tat book, as I've got a number of folks wanting to to be taught, and this will help them.  Thank you Tatting Chic.  You are very kind, and your gift will be much appreciated.

Tomorrow I am not going to work.  I still have 2 furlough days to take, so I'm going to sleep in and relax.  I may spend some time painting in Curly's old room.  DH has cleaned it out and put patches on most of the bad spots on the walls.  It will be a soothing blue with white trim, a pleasant color for a guest room.  Moe (and Curly) are off this week for Spring Break, and I may see if there is something little I can do with Moe.

For a last lovely bit - look at today's BC comic.  It's a little sermon in the funny pages.

I hope your Easter was wonderful.....
